Is there quality hamburger in such size in Szeged that even I can barely eat? Which, in addition, is made with Angus beef? Yes, since Monster Streetfood & Grill was opened in last November and they offer 25-30 dkg meat patty.

We suddenly found ourselves in such part of the city, where we usually do not walk in the evening. The Vásárhelyi Pál street was deserted so we were on the verge of thinking that we got lost or were in the wrong place, when we suddenly saw light in the direction of Sever Center. As we entered the building, we were surprised to see what a lively place it is. Almost every table was full, we barely managed to grab one. Then, for the second time, we arrived at lunchtime on a weekday, and we experienced the same thing.

The interior reflects the style of American fast-food restaurants with spacious interiors, huge posters and lamps hanging from the ceiling. The overenthusiastic and committed owner, Attila Mizsik is a chef himself, who got himself acquainted with the world of street food abroad. During our conversation, he revealed that there will be a terrace soon, thus they will be able to serve more people in summer.

The first thing I immediately noticed that the service is much more polite than usual. The waiters are happy to help make the right choice, well versed with the menu, moreover, they have their personal favorites. I have been informed that it would take 20 minutes to prepare the burger I chose, and, in the end, they wanted to know whether I liked it or not. While waiting we were given a bowl of tortilla chips with a very delicious homemade dip, which were not even charged at checkout.

For the second time, this was replaced by puff pastry, which I think is a great idea, and the salsa sauce was replaced by a more natural, marinated basil-pepper-onion in a glass bowl.

After the envisaged time, the moster has arrived in a sizeable frying pan. Two buns, separated from each other, faced us. On one of them, there was the huge Angus patty with an enormous meaty bacon on top of it, with melted cheddar between them. On the other side of the bun, there were cucumber slices (for the first time, slicing cucumber, which was, on the second occasion, replaced by the more adequate pickling cucumber), grilled tomatoes and the white onion.

The bun is toasted and has a very pleasant consistency and texture. The patty inside is a mixture of minced neck and brisket. Once you cut into it, the juice starts to flow immediately. It is really just the icing on the cake that the 25-30 decagramme of beef patty is a manly ration and a serious test of strength even for the toughest customers.

The bacon is actually not bacon; it is pork belly, in fact. Although both are cut of fatty meat from the belly of a pig, the latter is much thicker. The specialty of the locally made barbecue sauce is the paprika smoked on beechwood from Tiszasziget. I really liked the taste of it. Though the French fries are still frozen French fries, they are fresh and not oily at all, in addition, homemade fries will replace them in the future. The Coleslaw is nice, though it could be less sweet and mayonnaisey to my taste. A few drops of lemon or vinegar and it would be perfect.

The Big Block Burger costs HUF 2390, which is not extraordinary at all, although, considering the size of it, this sandwich is really gigantic. If you feel hungry enough, you too should give it a try!
